Looking for a dessert this 4th of July holiday weekend? May I suggest Bread and Putter’s Bright Red Strawberry Pie. Even my Disney characters thought it looked great.

Bright Red Strawberry Pie dessert. Nikon D700/Tokina 11-16mm, 1/20s, f/2.8, ISO 6400, EV 0, 15mm focal length.
For the recipe, click here. BTW, even new gelatin was a bit messy but oh so very good!
Ha! Glad to know it’s not just me and my poor pantry maintenance habits!
I’m so glad you tried this and enjoyed it! Your photo of course is beautiful. I think Goofy is eyeing the pie. 🙂

After my wife put on the strawberries on the top, I kept it out taking photos for awhile. Probably not a good thing. It was much firmer after a couple of more hours in the frig.
I moved Goofy a bit on purpose. 🙂

Okay, my question with this one is why does the image seem, well, kind of yellow? It’s almost like it’s supposed to look like an older picture.

I did not use flash here and the lighting in our kitchen has a yellowish cast to it. I could have adjusted it but I did like the old time feel of it so left it. Nice catch!

A Disney cannister set! Love it! My daughter and I picked about 15 pounds of strawberries yesterday – I’m thinking I might need to make this pie too.

That is a lot of strawberries! Do you make jam or preserves or are you having a big strawberry social at your place for the 4th?

It is the first time I’ve gone strawberry picking in years. I’m going to try making jam, and I’ve got some dessert ideas I’m thinking about too. I’m sure the berries will make their way to the blog soon.

Hmmm…. maybe if you had one of these pies waiting…. we should come to NY after all? 😉

Delicious! I´d like to see it when it is cut. At your photo it looks the same as the one we can buy here, which is a tart with a little sweet cream. Perhaps I should try making one…

Well, I would love to show you a cut piece, Birgitte. I ate the last one already. 🙂 Maybe next time.
