Bacon sizzling on the grill in preparation for Christmas breakfast.
Christmas Day brings not only the enjoyment of giving and receiving gifts in my home but also one of the best meals of the year. For years, my parents have shared Christmas morning with us. After opening our gifts and presents from Santa, the Christmas morning breakfast is prepared. My parents, both in their 80’s, give us the gift of their skill in making Bacon (my Dad) and Home Fries (my Mom). Here they are making Christmas morning special.

My Dad grilling the bacon and my Mom doing up the home fries for our traditional Christmas morning breakfast.
This is one tradition I hope continues for many more years to come.
As warm and joyful as your parents look I’m sure you will enjoy your treasured family tradition for years to come! I can smell the bacon and taste the homefries and ohboyohboy I wish I could be right there in the kitchen. Merry Christmas, Scott.

Gerry…we’d have loved to have had you stop in. Then you could have smelled the bacon and downed some home fries. BTW, they were delicious!

Taking a photo of bacon is just cheating. I mean, like, you can’t take a bad photo of bacon, right? 🙂 Nice one. Great, now I’m hankering bacon.

I have to agree. Hard to take a bad photo of bacon sizzling on the grill. Just be careful not to get grease on the lens. That would suck. Oh, I also like Canadian bacon.

“Oh, I also like Canadian bacon.”
You mean to suggest there are other kinds? 😉

How wonderful!
Zan and I are also blessed to have all of our parents with us, gracing us with their loving presence. They become more precious to me with each passing year, and I appreciate them more the older I get.

Great bacon picture! You really captured the crispiness that it develops while it cooks. Sounds like a delicious Christmas morning.

Speaking of sounds, the sound of the bacon crunching as I ate it wasn’t bad either. 🙂 My Dad makes good bacon.

Oh man, I smell the bacon and my lips are watering over those home fries. Anna and I have been dieting for the last couple of months… What I would give for some of those fries. My mom and dad are still around as well. How did they get so old so fast?
