You might say I was a little busy last week. It all started on Sunday, October 11, as I took a team of photographers to cover the 2015 edition of the LaFayette Apple Run.
Three days later it was time for the annual Syracuse Crunch Welcome to Town event at the Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, New York. This event gives fans of the Crunch time to meet, get autographs from and take pictures with the team. Season ticket holders can pick up their tickets with players providing the service.
The next night, I headed to Victor, New York to watch my nephew play in his Senior Night Soccer game. I photographed the opening ceremonies and other things to document the evening for him and his family.
I capped off the week at the 22nd Home Opener for the Syracuse Crunch at the War Memorial Arena in Syracuse, New York.
During the opening ceremonies, each Crunch player escorted a nurse or nurses from Update University Hospital in honor of all they do for the community in caring for their patients. The ceremonial puck drop was performed by ESPY Award winner and former NFL player Devon Still who brought national awareness to pediatric cancer which his daughter, Leah, is fighting. The game featured some great hockey with the winning goal being scored by new comer to the Crunch, Jeff Tambellini (7), seen in the lower right of the collage above.
Whew! I am tired. I have a few days to rest up before the next Crunch game later this week. I want to thank Rod Best and Eric Payne for their assistance in covering a few of these events.
