During my vacation to Florida, I missed out on the peak Autumn colors in upstate New York. Last weekend, I went out in search of any late Autumn color while visiting the Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge near Seneca Falls, New York. I found some and something else.
This immature Bald Eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) came soaring over my location at the Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge near Seneca Falls, New York. If this eagle survives to its fifth year, it will develop the characteristic white head and tail the species is known for.
These are wonderful. After peak color there are always interesting and beautiful things to find, you just have to look a little closer.
