Dimension of Mind

Karma’s latest Photo Hunt involved some imagination and opening up of one’s mind to…

…another dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind.  A journey into a wondrous land of imagination.  Next stop, the Twilight Zone!

The time, the future.  The subject, a mind bending look at a space elevator seen by a person getting ready to embark on a trip beyond the confines of Earth.

A space elevator to the heavens reaching beyond the end of the Earth.

The space traveler is on the first mission to a planet scientists feel can sustain human life.  The photos from unmanned probes look promising. It is not until the traveler lands and opens the hatch to the planet’s true wonders is the traveler convinced.

Earth like but not Earth.

At the end of first day on the traveler’s new planet, a setting of a new Sun is seen from the shores of an alien lake…alone, the only person on the planet.

A new Sun sets on a new planet far from the Earth.

Queue Rod Serling voice….

As you and I are aware, the traveler never left Earth.  For those who know the author of this place, you can guess what the traveler saw.  I invite you, if you dare, to do so.

LOL – it’s sure hard to find the ends of the earth when you’re surrounded by hills! You’ve done a yeoman’s job in finding photos to fit the theme. The space elevator is a blast — what is it?

Hi Scott! I’m just starting to make the rounds checking out photo hunt posts (I don’t normally do this before I post my own, but I’ve been intrigued and lured by some of the pingbacks I’ve seen! ) You know I love just about any interpretation of the ideas that I present in a photo hunt, and I think your Twilight Zone theme is pretty cool. Love the lake sunset – a beauty!

Very creative! If we look with fresh eyes, I suspect that many of us will be surprised at what we see. 🙂

  8. Love your imagination, Scott ! The first photo is fantastic. Would it be a space ship, I mean a “boat” for a simple Earth citizen like me ? 😦 It is a great interpretation of Karma’s photo hunt. Very well done, like always.
