When I looked back over the last ten weeks, I got the feeling of how incredible it has been. It started with a trip to North and South Dakota to visit my daughter and photograph the landscape and wildlife of the rugged Badlands in Theodore Roosevelt National Park.

Upon returning to New York, I visited the LaFayette Apple Festival after photographing the Apple Run. The valley trees were close to peak colors as seen above the many tents used by the festival.

A couple of weeks later, I enjoyed a Saturday shooting with the Syracuse Photographer Association Meetup group. First, we went to Webster’s Pond followed by an excursion to Oakwood Cemetery.

This next photo is a High Dynamic Range (HDR) image of the Family Gere plot in Oakwood Cemetery. For your information, Richard Gere is a native of North Syracuse, New York. I have no information that this is his family’s but it could be.

Traveling down to Walt Disney World, I found the Magic Kingdom all decked out for Halloween. While it did not feel like autumn to me in the 80 degree F temperatures, the spirit and colors of the holiday was fully represented.

With lake effect snow in the forecast for this weekend, it is looking like my walk at Beaver Lake Nature Center will be the last for this year in temperatures over 60 degrees. Fittingly, the beech trees are one of the last to drop their golden leafs.

As I said, it was an incredible Autumn of 2010. This is my submission for Assignment 10: Autum 2010. Look for a recap next week of all your wonderful submissions. October is good for Walt Disney Wrold. September AFTER Labor Day is better. Crowds are very low then.

My browser opened with just the top of image 2 visible. Scrolling down showed the tents. Almost too much color!
The beech leaves in this yellow color are one of my favourites among this autumns motives.

The colours in all this are gorgeous. I particularly like the second shot, with the contrast between the clean lines and shapes of the roof and the random mix in the background.

Great presentation of your autumn, Scott! Autumn-colors are amazing in all the excellent images, my favorites are the landscape from Theodore Roosevelt National Park (beautiful colors on the trees in the middle) – and the beech leaves (great contrast to the fine background).

Being a person enjoying colors, as I do, these photos are a pleasure to see. They all seem to reflect a joyful accept of the change of seasons, focusing on incomming possibilities more than on the lost. The last photo will be perfect as a “keep-up the mood” during winter.

Scott, beautiful collection of Autumn colors from different regions of the country. My favorite image has to be the herd of Bison grazing in the Theodore Roosevelt National Park, it looks so calm and peaceful out there.
