Fair Time!

Tomorrow starts the 2010 edition of the Great New York State Fair in Syracuse, New York.  I have been going to the Fair for most of my life and look forward to it every year.  Over the last couple of years, I have shown you many photos from the Fair.  This year will be no different.

Last year, I took my camera and tripod on to the Midway and got this long exposure photo of some of the rides people are thrilled on.

  1. Funny that you posted this… I just started editing fair pictures from our vacation!
We went during the day, and it wasn’t a state fair.

Can’t wait to see what you come up with this year! Have fun!

    • Living so close to the NY State Fair, I attend a few times each year so I get both day, night, inside, outside, tripod and no-tripod opportunities. Anytime you get a lot of people together with the activities of Fair, there are so many photo ops!

  2. A FAIR! Wow–you gonna comsume some of those spicey white doggies you mentioned elsewhere? Am curious about this ‘spice’ you’ve mentioned. Please do elaborate. Over at Lazy’s hot dog stand might be a more appropriate venue.

Oh read about your ‘new’ Nikon—SWEET! No can do, so for now my OLD Minolta x 700 must do the clicking.

    Men in kilts–what fun.

    • Thanks for stopping by 47WB! The spicy white doggies are the coneys I spoke of over at thelazyphotographer. Had a couple last night off the grill. Excellent. They are made by the Hofmann Sausage Company here in Syracuse, NY. If you are interested, you can order some from their website.

The new camera is sweet and glad you enjoyed those guys in kilts. 🙂

I can ‘feel’ your excitement, Scott! Hubby is already geared up for the Big E which arrives in September. He goes with a crew from his old place of work. I’ve been with them but all they want to do is eat when I’d much rather shoot! 🙂

    • Most of the vendors and, I believe, the ride operator move on to the Big E after our Fair. I really need to plan on trip to the Big E as I know the grounds are beautiful having been there for horse shows in the past.

I find time for both the eating and the photography parts. 😀

You should try to get to the Big E! My sister lives in that town and its not far for me. Maybe we could get Tracy to come out with her hubby and we could have a blogger meet-up!

Some people are thrilled on those rides, Scott, and some people are throwing up on those rides. But we can agree upon people watching and excellent treats. Fairs are a wonderful thing, and that is a grand image of–oh dear, ‘scuse me . . .
