Karma announced her August Photo Hunt in mid-July which played right into my hands. The weekend after her announcing the hunt would include things in the colors of the rainbow, the Syracuse Nationals rolled into town with over 7,000 hot rods, classic and muscle cars in every color the automotive industry has produced over the last 100 years. There is still time to join Karma’s Photo Hunt as she is taking submissions until this Sunday, August 28, 2011.

Bonus (kind of) as this was taken by a fellow alum at the luncheon cruise during my high school’s alumni weekend earlier this month.

What a cool idea
LOVE these colours! I want a car that’s THAT blue
Frenchy, great name, too!
You rarely see this blue on production cars anymore. Looks sweet on this coupe.
A fine series of shining colored cars. A boys dream that never ends. In particular I like the bulletholes in the blue Frenchy.
What a nice couple
Looks like Frenchy had some issues with a gunslinger. Of course, those are fake bullet holes. A favorite graphic for coupes.
Thanks, Carsten.
Yes, I did kind of have a guess where you were going with your photo hunt this time around! A most unique presentation of the rainbow! (I’ll take one of those red GTO’s, ok?
)
Nice bonus pic too – I’ll count it as “self” portrait since I’m thinking the composition of the shot was yours.
There were lots of GTO’s this year. Most for sale so bring your checkbook next year.
Yeah, I set it up. Camera was all ready and all she had to do was push the shutter.
These are great… excet for the GTO. GTOs always remind me of my ex (*gag*), he used to own a GTO Judge.
I think you are getting out voted on the GTO pic. Sorry for the reminder!
Wonderful colors and cars. I love the GTO!
Thanks, Ted! I won’t tell Michaela you like the GTO.
I like the Orange Coupe best, especially the composition with sharp focus background.
And a very nice couple portrait.
Thanks, Nye…if you look closely at the Orange Coupe, you will see a self-portrait.
I see it now, nice.
Very cool way of representing the rainbow, Scott! Clever title too.
Thank you, Robin. Sometimes titles are easy to come up with.
Nice take on the challenge, Scott! Love the colors!
Self-portraits are tough to take. Nice to see the missus!
It was such a bright and sunny day. It was hard to tone the colors down as all these cars were polished and so reflective. Yep, she sometimes finds her way in front of the camera (but not often!).
Rainbow colors and beautiful cars photographed by a great photographer backed by his lovely wife. Great post!
Thanks, Truels!
Wow! Always amazing to see what colors cars COULD be if we wanted them to (I have a blog post in waiting, with photos, of our country’s usual dull car colors).
Ellen, let me know when the post gets published. It is no wonder anyone with brightly colored car stands out these days.
No arguing with the collection of rainbow colours here.. Very nice indeed, and I’d quite happily drive away in any of them… even the purple one… but the GTO would be my first choice…
Everyone always goes for the red one! LOL
Very cool choices. I love the orange coupe image best of all, but something in me is drawn to that yellow Pontiac. D’you think I was a cab driver in a previous life? Or maybe a hotrodder. Yeah, that’s it.
You, my dear, are definitely a hotrodder. BTW, the yellow Pontiac is my favorite, too.
