Happy New Year!

Welcome to 2010 and the start of the second decade of the 21st Century!

I still am looking for those flying cars the Jetson’s had.  Maybe next decade?

Though I am currently somewhere between Syracuse, NY and Chicago, IL when this posts, I wanted to start out 2010 with some inspirational links to get your photographic juices going.  Want you all ready for a new assignment in a couple of weeks. 🙂

I have used Twitter to send some of these links out so you should always keep your eye on the Twitter feed on the left hand side of this blog or click the link to my Twitter page and follow along.  I like to re-tweet out links out I find of value to us, photographers.

Click on the links for some good stuff!

OK—I know I should be discussing the photography information contained in the article, but this is the paragraph that jumped out at me.

“Men can think about only one thing at once. We think far more deeply than women, which is why we can invent computers, automobiles, calculus, nuclear weapons and spaceships that fly us to the moon, but unlike women, we still can only think about one thing at a time. We may be able to flip between sipping a beer and watching the game, but it’s still only one thing at any one instant.”

What is he thinking, making a statement like that in an article on photography? Does he not realize that women are photographers too and that he just offended all of them? Really. I’m not one of those women who offend easily…I’m all in agreement that God built men and women differently…I’m a firm believer in Mars and Venus. I also agree that men and women possess different strengths, mentally, emotionally, and physically…..but to say men are deeper thinkers? Quite the inflammatory statement.

Mr. Rockwell would do well to remember that when one comes across as an ass, others are less likely to hit that “donate” button.

Sorry Scott….feel free to delete my comment if you want to. Just needed to vent! lol 🙂
Now I’ll go back to read with my rose colored glasses on and see if I can focus on the information I was meant to.

I’m just sitting here thinking (shallowly of course) about the Deep Thinker plopped in front of a giant screen TV in his underwear alternating sips of beer and watching-the-game because he’s only able to think about one of those at a time!

KD, I’m glad Scott didn’t hit “delete” because you gave me my laugh for the day! And all this as we–OK, apparently just some of us–enter the second decade of the 21st Century! Wheeee!

    • Ken Rockwell is controversial and very opinionated. He does know his stuff when it comes to photography and, whether you agree with him or not, he does make you think.

You are welcome to your opinion of what he says as much as he does to say them. Thank you for your comments, KD and Gerry.
